Joanna Yu – Costume Designer

joanna yuJoanna is a set and costume designer based in Toronto. Her YPT credits include James and the Giant Peach (2017) (costumes) and Scarberia (sets and costumes). Joanna has also designed for the Stratford Festival, Blyth Festival, Tarragon, Factory, Cahoots, Obsidian, Theatre Passe Muraille, fu-Gen, Musical Stage Company, Why Not Theatre, Buddies in Bad Times, The Theatre Centre, Neptune Theatre, The Grand, Carousel Players, Signal Theatre. Recent select credits: The Breathing Hole, The Komagata Maru Incident (Stratford Festival); Bearing (Luminato/Signal Theatre); Other Side of the Game (Cahoots/Obsidian); Butcher (Mirvish/Why Not Theatre). Joanna is the 2017 recipient of the Pauline McGibbon Award. Joanna was born in Hong Kong, raised in Thornhill, and is happy to call Toronto home.
