Before You See the Show…

We are so pleased to have DynamO Théâtre’s unique blend of dazzling acrobatics, vivid imagery and creative storytelling on our Mainstage this month to kick off our 2012-2013 season.

I on the Sky tells the story of a young woman’s journey of exile and isolation, where hope for a better life is found in the strength of others. To help prepare you to see this exciting production, here’s a sneak peek into our Study Guide with some questions you can explore with your classmates, teachers, family and friends:

•       How can an acrobatic movement describe a feeling or an emotion?

•       Why might a director choose movement rather than words as a means of expression?

•       Discuss the following statement: “Running away often boils down  to escaping something.” What prompts people to want/need to escape their situation?

For more questions and activities to help you explore the show, both before and after you see it, please download our Study Guide for free on our website: http://www.youngpeoplestheatre.ca/en/learning/teacherresources.cfm.
