I am sure it isn’t true, but I always remember the first day of school as being a grey, rainy day and Tuesday, September 4th certainly confirmed this memory for me. What a rainy day, especially compared to such a glorious weekend! With both rain and shine, we hope you’ve all had a great first week back.
As I wished my five-year old nephew good luck for his first day of school (Grade 1!) I reflected back on all the first days of school I had. I remember being filled with excitement and jitters. What will the year bring? Will I discover a new talent? What will my teacher be like? Will I succeed?
I came across an interesting article in The Globe and Mail about Success and Failure that I thought I would share.
For our first “Question for the Classroom” – which will be a regular feature on our blog this season – we were wondering what you and your students think…
Do you need to fail in order to succeed?
