Fall/Winter/Spring Sessions
CONFIDENCE CREATIVITY COMMUNICATION
Explore and experiment with essential drama skills in the Fall and Winter sessions. The Spring session culminates in a final presentation on the YPT Mainstage. New students are welcome throughout the year.
FALL SESSION – ACT I
The Fall Session is all about the essential skills needed in every drama class. Players will explore cooperative play building, active listening, focus, collaborative creation, developing characters, story theatre, scene study, monologue work, movement and improvisation!
WINTER SESSION – ACT II
The Winter Session emphasizes knowledge of theatre craft. Employing different styles of drama through improvisation, exercises and scene work, students will be encouraged to express their unique ideas in a new way.
SPRING SESSION – ACT III
The Spring session is a time to deeply explore, work and analyse the skills that students have learned in the Fall and Winter sessions. They will have a chance to display these skills in an end-of-session showcase – creating and performing a work of their own, from scratch.
