How much are single tickets for public performances?
Youth (ages 1-18 ) and Grandparents/Seniors (age 65+): $15
First Saturday Savings: $10* (2012/13 season)
Terms: Single ticket orders are subject to a service charge of $2 per ticket ($3 per ticket when purchased online). This does not apply to tickets purchased in Show Combos. All tickets are subject to applicable taxes (2012/13 season). A handling fee of $6 is applied to single ticket orders. A handling fee of $8 is applied to Combo orders. All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable. Patrons who wish to avoid the handling fee may opt to purchase tickets in person at the Box Office.

Do you have a babes-in-arms policy?
Yes. Children under 1 year of age do not need a ticket but must sit on their caregiver’s lap.

Can I redeem gift certificates, show certificates or other coupons online?
No. Discounts of any kind cannot be redeemed online. Please call the Box Office to make reservations.
Do you offer Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) performances?
We have a minimum of one PWYC performance for each production we offer in the season. PWYC tickets are available in person from 9:00 a.m. on the day of the performance only (maximum 4 tickets per person; suggested contribution $5 ea). Can I exchange my tickets for another performance of the same show?
Yes. Patrons who have purchased packages (Take Your Pick, Take A Journey) can exchange tickets free of charge. Single ticket buyers can exchange for a fee of $2 per ticket. Please note that all exchanges must be received by the Box Office 24 hours prior to your original performance and are subject to availability. For more information, please call our Box Office.
Are there two different theatres at YPT?
Yes! We have our Mainstage (Susan Rubes) Theatre that accommodates approximately 460 patrons and has assigned seating and our Studio (Nathan Cohen) Theatre that accommodates 115 patrons and is general admission seating. Often there are two plays being performed at the same time for different ages of audience. Call the Box Office if you are unsure of which theatre is presenting the play you wish to see.
Is the theatre wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Both performance spaces offer limited wheelchair seating. Please call 416.862.2222 for more information and to arrange this seating.
Do you admit latecomers?
We do admit latecomers to Mainstage performances. Latecomers are brought in at a point early in the production that the Stage Manager has determined will be least likely to disturb the audience and the performers. We do not admit latecomers to our Studio performances.
Is food or drink permitted in the theatre?
No. Food, drink, candy and gum are not permitted in the theatre. Food is permitted in our lobbies, however, YPT is a nut-free zone, as many children have severe life-threatening allergies.
Can we take pictures of the performance?
No. Photography, audio and video recording during or prior to a performance is prohibited by the Canadian Theatre Agreement.
Where is Young People's Theatre?
We are located two blocks east of the St. Lawrence Market and are in the vicinity of the Distillery District. Our closest major intersection is Front and Sherbourne Sts.
How can we reach YPT by public transportation?
Our theatre is accessible from the Bloor subway line by exiting at the Sherbourne Station and taking the Sherbourne bus to Front St. We are accessible from the Yonge line by exiting at King Station and taking the King Streetcar to Sherbourne St. or exiting at Union Station and walking.
Where can we park near the theatre?
There is a public parking lot at the southeast corner of Front and Sherbourne Sts. Street parking can be found on the Esplanade or on King St. on weekends.
