Designed for teachers and teacher candidates of all disciplines, Voice Care For Teachers is a great professional development opportunity; it is a chance to learn the vocal secrets of professional actors and techniques that will help you maintain a strong and clear voice throughout your teaching day. Our exercises give you tools for preventing vocal strain and developing a more even and powerful voice. Improving your voice will give you stronger presence and enliven your classroom lessons, your sports coaching sessions or any situation where you need to be clearly understood.
Our sessions will cover:
- Introduction to voice work and its application to teaching
- The effect of body alignment and breathing patterns on your voice
- Techniques for creating voice-capacity and support
- Phonation and resonance: greater vocal presence with less effort
- Calling vs. shouting, or: how to ‘shout’ safely
- Voice care and injury prevention
