Behind the Scenes Tours
Make your visit to Young People’s Theatre a memorable one by pairing your performance with a Behind the Scenes Tour. For a nominal per student fee, we offer Behind the Scenes Tours of our historic space. Visit our wardrobe, prop and scenery shops. Explore both our theatres: the Susan Rubes Mainstage Theatre and the Nathan Cohen Studio Theatre. Get a sneak-peek at our greenroom and take in a bird’s eye-view from our lighting booth. Our Behind the Scenes Tours give students a unique experiential learning opportunity to discover what goes into the making of a production and the operation of a professional theatre.
Students will have the chance to see all the backstage action and the opportunity speak directly with our staff about the life and history of our theatre. You can book a “Tour for a Toonie” following afternoon shows. Please contact us to schedule your tour.

Meet Our Resident Artist-Educators
YPT’s Resident Artist-Educator (RAE) program provides an exciting opportunity for a group of artist-educators to work, teach and learn during the theatre’s annual season of professional productions for young audiences. Our RAE’s are on hand to facilitate workshops as well as specialized and projects throughout the season. The RAE’s also involved in YPT’s productions as well as work as a teaching artist in residence. To see a full list of our 2015/16 Resident Artist Educators, click here.
