Learning is at the centre of everything we do.
The creation of The Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT is a milestone in the evolution of educational programming for Young People’s Theatre.
Our Centre, made possible by a donation from The Slaight Family Foundation, allows us to expand, deepen and enrich our already extensive educational initiatives. This season our Drama School specifically will see increased programming in all three locations. Even better, we’ll be opening a new location in East Toronto. We have also introduced programs during after-school hours and will be able to offer special production-related courses on weekends. We know this new Centre will be a hub of activity and we hope you will stay connected and grow with us!
In the calendar of events below, you can find monthly listings of YPT’s workshops, programs and events for students, community organizations, educators, artists and families offered throughout the season. Click on a program title in the calendar to see if it is open for registration.

Embedded deep in our philosophy is a commitment to education and learning. Whether in the classroom or here at the theatre, we offer a wide range of programming to support both students and teachers. These programs are designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of a particular theme or arts practice, enhance their theatre-going experience and give them the opportunity to actively engage in creative drama.
Now in our 46th year, the YPT Drama School offers fun-filled and meaningful theatrical experiences. Our courses, camps and ensemble programs provide children and youth of all levels of experience a chance to express themselves theatrically and discover the power of their own creative voice and imagination. Registration is open for year-round programs for all ages.
We are committed to community-building and resource-sharing in the context of arts education. We create and deliver programs and workshops in partnership with a number of community groups. This programming is designed to enrich families, neighborhoods and organizations throughout the city.
